With the BSBD series, the machine tool industry now has access to angular-contact ball bearing units that boast very compact dimensions and straightforward mounting. The series contain two angular-contact ball bearing rows, each with a contact angle of 60o, arranged in an O-shape.
This combination enables very high axial loads to be absorbed in both directions. Both bearing rows are preloaded against each other, guaranteeing a precise bearing arrangement and a high-rigidity drive system. The shape and arrangement of the seal make for high efficiency twinned with low friction and heat generation.
The ready-to-mount, preloaded pair of angular-contact ball bearing units is available in two designs, with the BSF series having a larger outer ring diameter than the BSN series along with bores for direct mounting like a flange. The bearing units are supplied with lifelong lubrication. However, they can also be relubricated in their mounted position.
With the new BSN/BSF series, NSK enables ball screw users to shorten mounting times. Instead of installing and preloading two separate angular-contact ball bearings individually, machine manufacturers can now use a high-quality, preloaded unit with two angular-contact ball bearings in an O-shape.
