Stay lubricated under pressure

Sectors that use heavy materials in their processes are prone to experiencing machinery difficulties due to loading bearing. This is often the result of poor lubrication, caused by using ineffective grease unable to withstand the high pressures and temperatures of the application.

K Nate HV’s unique design addresses this issue. The high viscosity base oil ensures that a strong film of lubrication protects materials against abrasive wear, while also being able to remain in place under extreme operational pressure and high temperatures. The use of a calcium-sulphonate thickener provides excellent anti-corrosion resistance to the product for comprehensive protection in harsh environments.

“One of the issues we’ve seen repeatedly is the wearing of parts under heavy load due to lubricant being unable to withstand the friction-induced heat,” explained Mark Burnett, VP of the Lubricants and Fuel Additives Innovation Platform at NCH Europe. “K Nate HV solves this with its potent blend of extreme pressure agents that react to heat at heavy loads, and a base continuously effective up to 220 degrees.

“The new grease has been formulated to provide protection against water ingress. This gives K Nate HV an excellent resistance to humidity and water.”

Most industries also face frequent problems from contaminants. Abrasive granules of material, such as wood dust or metal shavings, can get into greases and cause wearing. This results in bearings breaking, which in turn leads to replacement costs and a loss of production.

In order to combat this, the adhesive polymers and extreme pressure agents allow the product to not just stay in place but also coat the contaminant particle. This prevents it from wearing down surfaces and minimises the risk of breakages.
