Electrolube to launch Ultra-Low Viscosity, Flame Retardant Epoxy Resin at Productronica

The new resin is a two part encapsulation compound, designed to meet the highest level of flame retardency according to UL94. It incorporates a novel flame retardant, resulting in an ultra-low viscosity flame retardant formulation providing application solutions for a vast array of products. The resin is RoHS compliant and utilises non-halogenated flame retardants and a hardener free of aromatic amines.

With excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates, ER2218 exhibits excellent resistance to water and a wide variety of chemicals, therefore providing the highest protection in a range of environments. Additionally, the product has been specifically designed for compatibility with re-flow applications, offering a wide continuous operating temperature and remaining stable for short term, high temperature excursions.

ER2218 is available in resin packs for air-free mixing of small volumes. Bulk product and resin kits will also be available for larger volumes. For use in conjunction with ER2218, Electrolube’s OP9004 non-flammable cleaner has been designed for cleaning machines and containers immediately after use. OP9003 Resin Stripper is ideal for removing cured resin when necessary.
