Electrolube Adds New Reflow Oven Cleaner to its Range
Electrolube, has announced that it is adding a new product to its cleaning range. Reflow Oven Cleaner is a specially formulated micro-emulsion for cleaning reflow ovens and wave solder machines.
Reflow Oven Cleaner (ROC) is a non-flammable, low toxicity and odour solvent designed to remove all types of flux residues and with regular use the cleaner can prevent the build-up of condensed flux residues in reflow ovens and wave solder machines.

Global company, Control Techniques, part of Emerson Industrial Automation is already using the product: Bryan Richmond, Surface Mount Process Engineer is impressed with the new product, he said: “Control Techniques has been in business for a number of years manufacturing variable speed drives. Part of this process is to assemble our own printed circuit boards. The process has involved reflow ovens and solderbaths for many years and one of the main issues is keeping this equipment in a clean condition.

“Various chemicals have been used over the years which work to some degree, but not to the same level as the new ROC from Electrolube. It is the first product that actually removes contaminants from these processes in a clean and effective manner, without the hazardous issues associated with working with some cleaners to remove flux contaminants.

“We found that even baked on flux could be removed with a continual soaking and wiping using ROC. ROC has improved our cleaning process and reduced downtime as a consequence.”

ROC can be used at temperatures of between 20-50 °C, with an optimum working temperature of 40°C. The performance of the cleaner is increased by spraying into a warm oven and leaving for just a few minutes before wiping off the residue with ease.

Electrolube’s Reflow Oven Cleaner reduces overall downtime and causes little disruption to the production process. Due to the products non-flammable properties it allows the user to switch the oven on immediately after use, without concern for solvent vapours reaching their flash point.

Supplied in a convenient, ready to use spray trigger bottle for easy application, the effective cleaner should be used as part of the machines regular maintenance program to help to prevent the build up of condensed flux residues. Continued use will help to maintain efficient running of the equipment and avoid contaminating PCBs with precipitated residue.

The high-performance cleaner contains inhibitors to prevent corrosion to both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and is also compatible with most plastics.

Electrolube’s extensive portfolio of products includes contact cleaning solutions, lubricants, conformal coatings, thermally conductive materials, resins and service and maintenance aids. Visit www.electrolube.com for further information.
