Updating its portfolio, Altus Group has added the latest innovation from Rehm to its range, and it was all presented at the recent IPC Apex Expo in the USA. Rehm unveiled their latest convection soldering machine with vacuum, the VisionXP+ Vac, to visitors of the Expo. The new vacuum unit allows void-free convection soldering in a single process. The system has had a number of new updates including environmental and energy efficiency developments.

Less than five square metres of space on a shop floor is occupied by the the new CLX350 CNC lathe from DMG Mori, but the machine is nevertheless capable of turning components from bar up to 51mm diameter (65mm optional) and has a maximum turning diameter of 320mm.

Some nanoparticles have the tendency to agglomerate or cluster into denser masses which can lead to homogeneity and performance issues in their subsequent use. Existing methodologies to de-agglomerate them do not always produce uniform results, or can be invasive and wasteful.

The inclusion of a new surface mounter from Yamaha has been announced by Altus Group. YSM10 is a compact, high-speed model which also boasts space-saving qualities. It offers a number of benefits called the 'Three-One' concept which includes a combination of a mounting speed, a one-head-solution, which does not require replacement, and an integration of the three models of the YS12 type into one platform.

Offering fit-for-purpose condition monitoring for a range of industrial applications, SKF has introduced its compact IMx range. SKF’s 8-channel version of its IMx machine health monitoring platform has been initially targeted at the offshore wind and marine sectors, bringing affordable machine health monitoring to a wider industrial user base.  

Investing £300k in a specialised Mazak machine, Pailton Engineering aims to add a new layer of automation to its factory floor. Instead of simply purchasing upgrades of the existing machines, the company has strategically modernised, all by specifying a machine that will enhance the company’s capability and efficiency. This investment enables a more cost effective production process with reduced waste that will support the company’s future growth and product range expansion.

A new range of modular heavy-duty connectors has been introduced by Bosch Rexroth, bringing even greater flexibility to the use of machine frames made from aluminium strut profiles. Complementing Bosch Rexroth’s extensive existing line-up, the 180x180 dynamic load connectors have undergone extensive testing by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft for the safe absorption of both high static and dynamic loads. 

Time-consuming ramping processes or pilot bores are frequently the order of the day when milling pockets. In order to save these machining steps, MAPAL has developed the solid carbide OptiMill-Uni-HPC-Pocket milling cutter for the highly efficient universal machining of steel, stainless steel and cast iron.
