SPS IPC Drives: improving plant reliability, safety and availability

At SPS IPC Drives 2018, Emerson will demonstrate how its advanced automation solutions enable manufacturers to improve plant reliability, safety and availability. Using Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications and technology to place the right information in the hands of the right experts, Emerson facilitates faster decision-making that helps prevent unexpected down-time, a reduction in production performance and higher maintenance costs that all affect profitability.

By embracing the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, manufacturers can maximise the performance of their plant and reduce operating costs.

To help them achieve this, Emerson provides digital plant architectures and intelligent devices that deliver improved control and greater insight into the performance and health of machinery, plants and production.

SPS IPC Drives 2018 will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from 27th to 29th November. Visitors to the Emerson booth 451, Hall A, will discover how Emerson’s Plantweb digital ecosystem, which harnesses the power of Industry 4.0 and IIoT applications, can be easily implemented without adding system complexity, leading to improved production performance and availability, and ensuring product quality and machinery and worker safety.

Emerson industry experts will be available to explain how the use of standardised communication protocols provides greater access to process and device performance data, and how this can provide actionable insights, enabling smarter decisions.

Emerson will demonstrate how its ASCO and AVENTICS fluid control and pneumatics technology uses diagnostics, sensing and monitoring capabilities to improve system up-time and performance, enhance safety and optimise energy usage.

Visitors will be shown how connectivity, via a range of communications including Ethernet and IO-Link, provides remote access to valve health information, enabling faults to be identified earlier and maintenance scheduling to be improved.

The latest Rosemount and Micro Motion measurement technology, including analytical, level, temperature, pressure and flow devices, will be on display and Emerson experts will outline how pervasive sensing applications, enabled by wireless networks, deliver actionable information that can be used to quickly improve operations.

There will also be demonstrations of machinery health monitoring, lighting, power supply and control systems. This will include the DeltaV PK Controller, which enables standalone or easily integrated control of skids and applications typically managed by PLCs, and the DeltaV mobile application for iOS and Android devices, which delivers real time process values, trends, alarms and key data to plant operators virtually anywhere.

This makes it easier to collaborate and share critical information with managers and engineers and contributes to enhanced business results.

Emerson will be in Hall 4A, Stand 451 at SPS IPC Drives.
