Shimco to Exhibit Polyimide-Based Shims at HELI-EXPO 2013

HELI-EXPO is where the world of vertical aviation connects. More than 20,000 helicopter industry professionals will be attending the world's largest helicopter exposition and trade show. HELI-EXPO is produced by the Helicopter Association International, of which Shimco has been a member for many years.

Designed with polyimide film material produced by DuPont and Kaneka, the Shimco polyimide-based shims are laminated on-site at the company's manufacturing facility in Canada. Polyimide films have a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical and mechanical properties that withstand extreme temperature, vibration and other demanding environments, but also provide a weight-saving advantage over similar metallic products.

This year we will be showcasing our polyimide-based shims, which were introduced to the market last year and have already proven successful in aircraft designs and assembly.
