World’s biggest
JEC Europe is described as the biggest composites exhibition in the world. Sandvik Coromant, through its established partnership with Precorp, its Composite Application Center in Orléans, the company’s membership of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC and its track record of innovative solutions for composites machining applications, is today a major player in this exciting technology area.
Among the latest cutting tools for composites to make the transition from R&D to production is the CoroMill Plura compression end mill, which is now available as a standard tool. On display at JEC Europe, the tool's groundbreaking helix angle design enables it to counter the effects of splintering demonstrated by CFRP materials and many other composites during machining operations.
Yellow coat team
This and many other solutions will be presented on Smart Hub R9, Pavilion 1, where visitors will receive a warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss existing or forthcoming manufacturing challenges with the company’s instantly recognizable Yellow Coat team. For anyone preferring a structured overview of the company's product offer, a technical sales presentation will be given by Mohamed Hammadi, a Sandvik Coromant expert in composite machining, on Wednesday 13 March at 16:00 CET.
Mr Hammadi is heavily involved with the Sandvik Coromant Composite Application Center in Orléans, France. Here, two power feed machines are located alongside a five-axis CNC machining center, hand-held machines and a host of associated equipment and metrology devices. More information about the center's capabilities will be available on the stand.
JEC Europe 2013 is taking place on 12-14 March at Porte de Versailles, Paris. Opening hours for the show are 09:00 to 18:00.
