Removing problem metals at PPMA 2018

Removing metal contamination is critical in any processing and packaging line. Unwanted metals not only result in costly damage to machinery, loss of productivity and downtime but can impact a company’s reputation on product quality.

Eriez Europe will be showcasing a range of their magnetic separation, metal detection and vibratory feeder solutions for improved and efficient metal removal and product purity at PPMA 2018.

Visitors to stand G77 will have an exclusive first-look at the company’s newly designed PM Grate Magnet as well as see a selection of magnetic separators for ferrous contamination that can be installed in chutes, ducts, pipes, over belts and under belts, and other areas where free flowing materials are present.

Eriez will also be showcasing the Xtreme Metal Detector, the newest model in the company’s extensive metal detector product range. This feature rich, multi-frequency unit is designed to achieve the highest levels of sensitivity to detect metal contaminants as small as 0.4mm spheres in packaged, loose and free-fall applications.

The sleek unit combines simplicity and sophistication with its easy-to-navigate control and re-designed user-friendly touch screen interface. Each detector can be remotely monitored and controlled from a PC allowing users to monitor, analyse and update each system.

From the moment ingredients enter your plant to the time your end product ships, Eriez aims to offer a complete solution for the detection, protection and material handling of products in any food, packaging or processing line.

Paul Hale, Metal Detection Sales Manager at Eriez Europe stated: “Following last year’s successful appearance at PPMA, we are pleased to exhibit again in 2018. We gathered crucial information from our customers about what they want and need in metal detection equipment and we designed the Xtreme Metal Detector to exceed these demands and expectations. It is the first in a line of Eriez metal detectors that will add even more enhancements that the food and packaging will want as time goes on. In our experience, the flexibility and ability to customise a metal detection system to match specifications is unique.”
