New Manufacturing Solutions event introduced for 2017

The Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) and GTMA have organised a new event called Manufacturing Solutions. To be held on 24th May 2017, 8:30am-4:00pm, the event will provide an opportunity for visitors to learn about the latest developments and advanced technologies available to manufacturing and precision engineering companies in every industrial sector.

The event will be free to attend at the LIT, Moylish Park, Limerick, Ireland.

GTMA Chief Executive, Julia Moore said: “There is a thirst for knowledge in the Irish engineering industry, and everyone at the GTMA is extremely pleased to be working with the staff at LIT, as well as the local authorities, to create an event that has been developed to showcase the very best manufacturing technologies and engineering solutions.”

Moore explained: “It will be an exciting opportunity for visitors to improve existing products and introduce new ones using the latest technologies and services.”

Over 80 of the most advanced providers of machine tools, workholding, cutting tools, metrology, inspection and CAD/CAM/PLM manufacturing software and ancillary products and services, will be exhibiting at the event. Additionally, a comprehensive programme of leading industrial keynote speakers is currently being developed.

Moore continued: “Bringing all the leading technology suppliers together the GTMA and LIT are providing an ideal conduit for the transfer of technology from the specialist suppliers to the practical industrial landscape, where its take-up and practical application can be used to gain a competitive business advantage.”

Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at LIT, Ciaran O’Loughlin, added: “This will be a ‘must attend’ event for every Irish manufacturing company, with unrivalled access to exhibiting businesses that can provide technical product information and support services that will improve efficiency and make productivity gains achievable.”

LIT’s Moylish Park Campus is the site of the Applied Science, Engineering and Technology faculty. Many of the exhibitors will be located in the ‘Street’, a large, open plan corridor running straight through the heart of the extensive site. Additional exhibition space is provided in the sports hall, half way up the Street, while the 350-seat Millennium Theatre will be used to welcome visitors.
