Lattice Technology today announced its sponsorship of the 3D Collaboration & Interoperability Conference, taking place May 15-16 in Denver, Colorado. The 4th annual industry conference organized by Longview Advisors brings together industry leaders to discuss the issues, barriers and suggested solutions to collaboration and interoperability within the manufacturing enterprise.

Lattice Technology considers Interoperability of 3D data to be the key to success in both PLM and Digital prototyping. Lattice’s products empower the greater visions of these processes by allowing seamless integration, simulation, and animation of 3D data once created, and for uses beyond engineering.

“In order for digital prototyping to work as a process, the ability to interoperate 3D data is a necessity,” states Bill Barnes, General Manager, Lattice Technology US. “The 3D Collaboration and Interoperability conference is a perfect venue for industry leaders to discuss solutions to overcoming major obstacles, establishing best practices across the entire design-to-manufacture process, and for us to be able to explain the position that XVL takes in this area.”

Lattice’s suite of 3D publishing applications provides easy to use software for the creation, management and integration of usable, intelligent 3D content throughout the manufacturing enterprise. Lattice’s standards based XVL® is an ultra-compressed technology used to dramatically reduce the size of 3D models created in engineering CAD systems without losing their fidelity. The XVL format allows even the largest and most complex assemblies to be used quickly and easily by everyone in the manufacturing lifecycle.

“Poor CAD interoperability - the big collaboration killer - is the largest source of wasted time on the planet,” said David Prawel, President, Longview Advisors. “Designers should be designing, not fixing bad CAD, and they should be reusing the 3D data their colleagues have created, easily and quickly throughout their global organization. This conference is the only CAD-neutral opportunity to learn the latest strategies and solutions to prevent this kind of waste. We appreciate the recognition of how important the issue is by having the support of key vendors like Lattice Technology.”
