Ion Science Launch GasClam at ACHEMA
Ion Science enjoyed recent success at ACHEMA – the international exhibition & congress on chemical engineering, environmental protection and biotechnology. Located in hall 4.1 for industrial and labour safety, the show provided the ideal platform for Ion Science to showcase its new GasClam instrument and latest developments in PID, SF6 and corrosion monitoring.
Launched for the first time was the new GasClam, the world's first and only in-situ borehole gas monitor for the detection of methane (CH4), oxygen (O2), and carbon dioxide (CO2), with optional sensors for carbon monoxide (CO) and VOCs, plus water depth.

GasClam can be used for most below ground applications, continuously, for up to three months to measure gases with temperature, barometric and borehole pressure giving a true long term profile - the only instrument of its kind to do so.

Also on display was the newly developed, battery powered Hydrosteel Transportable monitor, a totally non-intrusive device enabling continuous monitoring of hydrogen flux to identify and confirm control of corrosion and hydrogen crack risk.

Additional exhibits included the SF6 P1 and LeakCheck P1:p, a revolution in SF6 leak detection, ensuring incredibly fast searching at ultra sensitive levels, and the leading range of PID detectors for accurate detection of VOCs, from ppb to ppm levels.

More international than ever before, ACHEMA 2009 attracted 3,767 exhibitors and over 173,000 industry professionals from all over the world. The 29th event was held over an area of 134,000 m².

Duncan Johns, Managing Director for Ion Science states: We were impressed with the high number of visitors attending this year’s event, despite the current economic climate. The show was upbeat and busy and provided us with an ideal opportunity meet with a number of our European distributors and to give hands-on demonstrations of our new GasClam instrument, and world leading range of PID, SF6 leak detectors and corrosion monitoring equipment. We would like to thank all those that attended.”
