Innovasic to Demonstrate “Ethernet to the Edge” at Embedded World 2016

Innovasic will demonstrate a low complexity Ethernet concept to bring Ethernet to the edge of industrial, building, transportation, and automotive networks.  This concept, dubbed the “low-complexity Ethernet node”, minimizes power, area, and cost enabling even the simplest of “things” to be directly connected to an Ethernet network without a processor.  On the network side, a low-complexity Ethernet node can participate in any 10/100/1000 Ethernet network and can coexist with any Industrial Ethernet protocol.  It is envisioned that future versions will support new 2 wire Ethernet standards for process automation providing a low power, cost effective Ethernet alternative to 4..20 mA and HART networks.

“With the advent of IIoT and Industrie 4.0 comes the compelling case to bring Ethernet to the edge of mission-critical networks”, says Keith Prettyjohns, Innovasic’s CEO. “But until now, Ethernet has been too costly to bring to the simplest “things” like sensors, switches and actuators. We are excited to demonstrate this new technology that promises to break the traditional cost and complexity barriers of Ethernet."

Please visit our panel and view the demonstration at the PROFINET and PROFIBUS International stand in Hall 5, Stand 411.
