Organisers have declared the first-ever CeeD Awards a great success, after over 500 delegates came together to celebrate Scotland's booming engineering sector. The Centre for Engineering Education and Development (CeeD) is working to build a national engineering community in Scotland, bound together by a common aspiration to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and ultimately profit.

These inaugural awards were established to recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of the best established businesses in Scotland, along with the rising stars in the industry.

Winners on the night included the Volvo group, Booth Welsh, Calnex, and Novosound. Karen Adams from JFD won the Women in Industry award, while there were joint winners of the Young Person award; Evan Watt from Trig Avionics and John Storr, Joshua Walker and May Tuckwood from AFRC.

Joe Pacitti, Managing Director of CeeD and Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Scotland (CIM), commented: “The first-ever CeeD Awards were undoubtedly a great success, we had over 500 attendees which I am told is almost unheard of for an inaugural event. We were delighted that so many of Scotland's finest from across the engineering, technology, manufacturing and indeed wider industrial sectors, could join us to celebrate Scotland's booming success.

“CeeD was set up to bring together organisations and the people in them, to share in a peer to peer knowledge exchange process, sharing and learning through a process of meeting and co-operating through case studies, best practice experiences, exploring new ideas and breaking down silos across a range of sectors. Over the past 12 years, the CeeD Community has been growing steadily and has delivered 750 events to over 10,000 delegates with over two million communications.

“Professional engineering and marketing is a vital driver of business advantage, boosting commercial outcomes and growing talent. I would like to offer my congratulations to all who made it to the finals; they reflect the very best in engineering and marketing talent as well as recognising the rising stars in the industry.”
