Peter Smith, Sales and Marketing Director of Edbro, comments: “The IAA show is always a very special event, as people visit from all over the world to do business and learn about the latest technologies. This was a big year for us as we were launching the CS22 tipping cylinder as well as announcing new innovations to further reduce the weight of our entire CS range. Our announcements clearly caught people’s attention as we welcomed a record number of visitors onto the stand.”
The stand featured the launch of the CS22 cylinder which, with a load capacity of 90 tonnes, is the strongest cylinder that the company has ever produced. The cylinder is specifically designed to ensure maximum operational reliability in the world’s toughest environments. The design has been adapted for markets where overload conditions are commonplace and features extra thick tube walls to prevent buckling and improve safety in operation.
Edbro also announced product developments to the rest of its CS range cylinders for front end truck and trailer applications. Already proven to be the lightest like-for-like cylinder solution on the market, the Edbro team has managed to further reduce the overall package weight thanks to a number of developments including new, lightweight mounting brackets which are up to 20% lighter.
In total the combined savings mean that many operators will benefit from a further 15kgs weight saving, ensuring that the CS range keeps its crown as the lightest product on the market. Using a typical Edbro CS17 cylinder the most popular model, total savings of between 40 and 95kgs are possible when compared to any other cylinders on the market.
Peter Smith continues: “The feedback from all of the stand’s visitors was extremely positive and we came away with a lot of new leads within the European market and further afield. The success of the show can really be attributed to our continued commitment to R&D and product development. Over the coming months we plan to continue to invest in our facilities which I’m sure will mean that at IAA 2014 we will have even more new developments to talk about.”
