Basler Power Control and Protection Conference Gives In-Depth Look at Power System

The 43rd annual Basler Electric Power Control and Protection Conference, September 29 – October 2, in Fairview Heights, Illinois (near St. Louis, Missouri) gives attendees both a good overview and an in-depth look at specific aspects of controlling and protecting electrical generating power systems.

The topics are intended to address critical issues facing the electrical industry today. While this conference does not specifically cover the troubleshooting of systems or their components, it is designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of power generation systems.

The conference features both classroom training and product demonstrations. Topics to be discussed include: Voltage Regulation (selection & application) and Generator Stability, Voltage Regulation and Parallel Operation, Automatic Synchronization, Designing an Excitation System (prime and stand by power), Retrofitting Rotary Exciters with Digital Excitation Systems, Power System Stability, Synchronous Motor Control, Parallel Operation with a Network System, Protective Relay basics, Distributed Generation, and Genset / Engine Control and Protection, plus a tour of the Basler factory in Highland Ill., with live product demonstrations.
