AEMT Conference postponed until 2018

The AEMT Conference brings the industry together under one roof to network, attend seminars and forums, and listen to technical papers. It is supported by an array of associate display stands and an annual dinner the night before, celebrating the industry. This year, the association has launched the AEMT Awards and Gala Dinner, hosted at the stylish Doubletree Hilton near Coventry on 29th November.

Championing the best the electrical and mechanical industry has to offer, nominations are open for significant industry achievements in seven categories ranging from technical innovation of the year to rising star of the engineering world.

The awards have been received with the utmost support and enthusiasm. Since launching on March 8th at a member’s meeting in Oxfordshire, DFA Media, Solutions in IT, Fletcher Moorland, TEC Motors and WEG have all become sponsors, and nominations for each category are coming in.

The conference and awards are two different approaches to celebrating the industry, and have different requirements. It was felt by the council that it is best to concentrate on making the AEMT Awards a success for 2017, and postpone the conference until 2018.

This will give the marketing committee and secretariat the time commitment, and reserves required to make an even bigger success of the conference for 2018. Graham Brooker, President of the AEMT stated:  “The conference has gained a loyal following over the last few years due to its impressive line-up of speakers and emphasis on supporting, educating and inspiring those within the electrical and mechanical trades. It is felt that with more time and support, the conference can be enriched, and further improved to make it a stand out conference not just for the members, but for the entire industry, including those being served by AEMT Members.”
