This year will see the 30th international exhibition for industrial automation in the form of SPS - Smart Production Solutions. The show previously known as SPS IPC Drives may have a new title, but the proven concept and areas of focus will remain the same and continue into the future. SPS takes the digital transformation industry into consideration whilst showing the most relevant expertise knowledge. The show hosts a unique spectrum of smart and digital automation products and solutions, where you can find anything you are looking for from simple sensors, to highly complex intelligent solutions.

The shortlist for the Enabling Innovation Zone at Advanced Engineering has been announced by show organisers. The Enabling Innovation Zone aims to support smaller enterprises accelerate their innovations into the advanced manufacturing and technology industries and is supported by Innovate UK/KTN, the Institute for Manufacturing and Innovation DB. 

Pressures to reduce and eliminate emissions, improve urban air quality and reduce the carbon intensity of transportation, mean that the wide-scale electrification and hybridisation of vehicles is becoming a reality. This presents a challenge to the product development process to deliver vehicles which are cost effective, attractive for customers and compliant with international regulations.

TR Fastenings will be exhibiting at Northern Manufacturing and Electronics 2019, which takes place from the 2nd-3rd October 2019 at EventCity in Manchester. Northern Manufacturing and Electronics is ‘one of the key marketplaces for industrial technology, components and engineering services in the North, and an un-missable event for the region’s manufacturers and their associated supply chains.’

Plant reliability specialist AVT Reliability will demonstrate its intelligent condition based maintenance (CBM) expertise at Maintec in October. Maintec, which brings together experts from across the maintenance, reliability and asset management industry, will provide a showcase for the Machine Sentry suite of products. It will be held on October 30th and 31st at the NEC Birmingham. 

DSEI 2019’s Defence Engineering Skills Conference (DESC) will take place on Thursday 12th September at ExCel, London. The conference provides a unique opportunity for those interested in engineering education and industry to explore the challenges faced by the defence sector and innovative suggestions for their solutions.

Tip-Ex 2019, the UK’s leading exhibition for tipper and bulk transport held in early June, was a win-win event for one of its regular exhibitors. JOST UK had - as it always does – its principle stand near the entrance, which caught the eye of everyone as they came into the event. Elsewhere, the company hosted its legendary hog roast BBQ in the outside area, while many JOST products could be seen on customer vehicles around the show.

The UK’s largest annual engineering show, Advanced Engineering has announced some of the guest speakers that will be presenting at the show in October at the NEC in Birmingham. As part of the extensive open forum programme, speakers include representatives from Siemens Digital Industries, BAE Systems, McLaren Automotive and IBM Academy of Technology.

DMG MORI will be presenting the new CELOS APPs in line with its focus on integrated connectivity at EMO Hannover. The new APPLICATION CONNECTOR, for example, enables the operation of all web-based applications directly via CELOS. So direct interaction with MES or ERP systems is possible as is access to specialised customer applications.
