As part of the Industry 4.0 area at EMO 2017, HEIDENHAIN is presenting its Connected Machining system of production in which all work steps are networked - from the design to the deliverable component – via the company’s TNC control. It can access all order related information in a company network, enabling efficient exchange of data. Partner companies in the areas of CAD/CAM, machine tools, tool measurement and tool management will collaborate in the demonstration.

Taking place on September 19th at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, the biennial Altair Technology Conference (ATC), now in its tenth year, will focus on new strategies and examples of digital design in the development of innovative products. 

Industry 4.0 is progressively emerging as the crucial factor in the race for leading edge technology and market shares in the future. And time is running out for the German machinery and plant manufacturers.

The whole world is talking about 3D printing, additive manufacturing and generative multi-layer construction technologies. Nevertheless, this is a long way from meaning that the classical machine tool is going to be pensioned off. The EMO Hannover 2017 will be showcasing an international banquet of production technology – with alternative processes as the highly auspicious icing on the cake.

At Northern Manufacturing 2017, a compact, automated bending cell for producing 3D sheet metal components, comprising a Bystronic one-metre / 40-tonne capacity Xpert 40 press brake fitted with the manufacturer’s new Mobile Bending Robot will be showcasing. The automation module is wheeled in front of the press brake and simply interfaced to it in a plug-and-play arrangement.

For the first time at this year’s EMO Hannover, a research symposium will be held; under its aegis, the latest scientific developments will be presented. The VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) is in conjunction with the WGP (German Academic Society for Production Engineering) organising the ‘Production for Tomorrow’ symposium. It will be focusing less on digitalisation and Industry 4.0 than on the numerous innovations in the fields of classical technologies.

Demonstrating at EMO 2017 NCMT Fixture Solutions will be highlighting the advantages of the photo-activated adhesive system, Blue Photon.It is intended for the manufacture of workholding systems for use on machine tools and is suitable for securing awkwardly shaped parts for tight-tolerance machining and inspection.

At this year’s EMO fair, Kasto will be presenting innovations from both sides of the company's business – sawing machine and storage system manufacture. Highlights will be an intelligent system for efficient use of energy in automated storage systems; an automatic version of the KASTOmicut swing-frame band saw, the A 2.6, which will make its world debut; and live demonstrations of the high-performance KASTOwin pro AC 5.6 bandsaw.

The Northern Manufacturing & Electronics exhibition held at Event City, Manchester, on 27th– 28th September, will see igus exhibit its range of lightweight and maintenance-free bearings and cable management systems for a variety of applications.

This year’s Offshore Europe Aberdeen conference, held from the 5th to the 8th of September, will see E2S Warning Signals exhibit its range of alarm horn sounders, beacons, loudspeakers and call points.
