The Engineering Design Show will be returning to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on the 18th and 19th October this year, and visitors will see igus on stand D20. igus will be hosting live demonstrations and showcasing advanced products and techniques that help eliminate waste from the manufacturing process, resulting in improved efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability.

National Instruments is hosting NIDays Conference and Exhibition at Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher on Tuesday November 28, 2017. At NIDays, scientists and engineers will learn about the latest technology to accelerate productivity for software defined systems in test, measurement and control, in a full day of interactive, technical and networking sessions from industry leaders and NI experts.

A lot of the extensive Elesa range of standard machine elements are designed around the needs of processing and packaging machinery manufacturers, and many of these will be on display at the 2017 PPMA Exhibition, which takes place on 26th–28th September in the NEC, Birmingham. Featured on the Elesa’s stand no E02 will be their IP65-7 direct dial digital position indicators with electronic mechanism for easy set up and readout.

Switchgears and sensors are abrasive, like cement dust and sand; they are corrosive, like fertilisers; or they are explosive, like all organic dusts. The characteristics of dusts often make high demands on the design of any switchgear they come into contact with, and as if this were not enough, the plants where these substances are handled are often located outdoors, where damp and extreme temperatures pose additional challenges to electric components.

The trade show for industrial technology, HANNOVER MESSE, is spreading its wings, with the announcement that in September of 2018, Deutsche Messe is staging its first ever HANNOVER MESSE in the US.

At the University of Huddersfield’s Engineering Open House Day, local children took part in a ‘New Inventions’ poetry workshop, reverse engineering of toys and a peek behind-the-scenes of a world-leading rail research institute. The day was part of a nationwide initiative entitled 'Engineer a Better World' by the Institution of Engineering and Technology to encourage more young people to choose engineering as a career.
