New catalogue describes positioning and manipulation possibilities

Armstrong Optical Ltd of Northampton announces the immediate availability of a new catalogue describing the complete range of extreme resolution positioning and manipulation systems from SmarAct GmbH. The core competence of SmarAct GmbH is the development of miniaturised positioners that meet the highest demands of precision and control.

The scalable and highly efficient control systems and flexible interfaces make it easy to connect the products to a variety of applications including ones in high vacuum environments. The positioners and control system modules are designed in a way that they can be built up and extended into complete systems to meet the most critical of demands.

The SmarAct product portfolio covers a wide variety of applications in industry and research ranging from simple laboratory positioning right through to multi-dimensional movement and control. Whilst not designed specifically for microscopy the SmarAct systems are finding great applicability, especially in the high vacuum environment used in electron microscopy.

Systems ranging from 1D through to >15D robotic manipulation devices with integrated grippers with force-feedback control can be built up from the modular stages and control systems.
