Chemineer’s mirror finish drive for bio-pharmaceutical mixing

For hygiene-critical bio-pharmaceutical applications, mixing specialist Chemineer has introduced a new stainless steel motor-based agitator drive with a 0.5RA (mirror) finish.
Benefitting from superior hygiene features over conventional AC (alternating current) motors, the new drive’s ultra-smooth body and round terminal box ensure there is no place for dirt or product to become trapped, causing potential product-contamination problems.
The drive’s IP66-rating (ingress protection) also means that in can be safely hosed down, even when using cleaning chemicals, whilst it’s high quality stainless eliminates any risk associated with rust or flaking paint.
A portable unit that can easily be mounted on the side of open mixing vessels, Chemineer’s bio-pharmaceutical mixers have a maximum run-out of just 0.05mm, effected by using a special shaft mounting with internal bearings and a heating process that ensures precise linearity of the shaft.
