Frankley, It’s A Mixing Success
Large static mixers made by Chemineer are proving a successful addition to Severn Trent Water’s water treatment works (WTW) in Frankley, Birmingham, where Morgan Sindall has completed a £31.35M upgrade.

Designed in conjunction with Morgan Sindall engineers to meet specific water treatment applications, Chemineer’s 1600mm Kenics HEVW Static Mixers provide precise blending and dispersion of all flow-capable materials by redirecting flow patterns already present in empty pipe. Utilised for disinfection and orthophosphoric acid and flash mixing, the Static Mixers adapt to any piping system.

A result of lengthy technical design work, which also included significant input from Severn Trent Water engineers, the large and complex HEVW Statics are manufactured without moving parts.

Severn Trent Water’s Area Operations and Maintenance Manager, Jon Waller, commented: “The Chemineer Mixers are proving very effective, reliable and low on energy usage”.

Morgan Sindall M&E Project Manager Shaun Christopher, added: “This has been a genuine team effort from all parties to achieve optimum mixing quality. Chemineer were very keen to work with us on providing a process solution”.
