It has been announced by Allied Motion Technologies that they are introducing the Globe line of mil-spec-qualified fractional horsepower PMDC motors and gear motors. These motors are available off-the-shelf or on short lead time through Allied’s QuickShip program. 

A new family of stepper motors have been introduced by EAO that deliver 10% higher torque than currently available alternatives but produce 3dB(A) less noise with significantly reduced vibration and heat generation. Improvements in motor efficiency has enabled manufacturer Sanyo Denki to boost the torque of its new Sanmotion SF24 Series of 42mm stepper motors by 10% compared to current equivalent sized alternatives but with 15% lower inertia.

A family of compact integrated circuits (ICs) for velocity and torque control, capable of four-quadrant current control is now available from Daventry’s INMOCO. Developed by Performance Motion Devices in Massachusetts, and launched to the world in February 2018, the Juno IC family of ultra-efficient and powerful velocity and torque control ICs are ideal for next-generation laboratory automation, healthcare equipment, and similar applications requiring high speed or low speed motor control.

Atlas Copco has unveiled its new generation of oil-free low pressure rotary screw ZS 4 VSD + blowers, which are equipped with integrated permanent magnet (iPM) motors. This, along with other design developments, contributes to them being the most energy-efficient blowers available in the market.

At the beginning of the 1980s, NORD started to produce electronic drive technology in Aurich, Lower Saxony. Over the years, the range of inverters, motor starters and electronics was continually expanded and now includes electronic drive technology up to 160kW. The production location has also been continually extended.
