JVL Industri Elektronik A/S, a Danish company, now represented in Ohio, USA, announces a new expansion, CANopen, module for their MAC, Integrated AC Servo motors

The Huco Dynatork air motor is quite ingenious. It is based on a unique free-floating piston design that is capable of precise position control. Maximum torque is transmitted on start-up and this can be adjusted to fine limits by standard air-flow valves. Unlike other makes that operate with a system of metal pistons and connecting rods, the Huco Dynatork motor is perfect for stop/start load speed applications under load.

QuickSilver Controls, Inc. adds CANopen DSP 402 (CiA DSP 402 v3.0) to its line of controllers/drivers for NEMA 11, 17 and 23 frame brushless servo motors.

Phidgets has released the 1063 – PhidgetStepper Bipolar 1-Motor Controller. The 1063 controls the position, velocity and acceleration of one bipolar stepper motor. It allows the very precise positioning of stepper motors; it can handle larger industrial stepper motors and is also suitable for applications that require a lot of torque.

Midwest Motion Products has announced the release of a new DC Gear Motor, the Model No. MMP-TM55-48V GPk52-046. Accepting any 48 Volt DC source, including battery power, this robust Gear Motor measures just 2.14” in Diameter, by 7.2” long, and has a keyed output shaft of 12mm diameter by 25mm long. Easy mounting is accomplished with 4 “face mount” M5 threaded holes, equally spaced on a 40mm Dia. B.C. The output of this reversible gearmotor is rated for 46 IN LBS continuous torque, at 100 RPM, and 89 IN LBS Peak. Despite its compact size, and weight of approximately 3.5 pounds, it’s an efficient design, requiring just 1.8 Amps at 48 Volts DC to generate its Full Load Torque. That translates into long life battery charge, very low noise operation, and lower costs for related drive electronics. Motor windings for 12, 24, 36, 60 & 90 Volts are available.

JVL has developed a new module for the MAC50-141 and MAC800 series of integrated servo motors that enables the MAC motors to be used on Devicenet. The AC-servo motor, encoder, amplifier, positional controller and Devicenet are all built into the motor. The only connections required are a supply voltage and the Devicenet cables. The device type is a ”Position controller”, which is a standard method for controlling position when motion control is used on Devicenet.

The increased bus voltage on the STAC6, from USA based Applied Motion Products, effectively extends the power range of stepper drive technology and includes additional features that together derive improved performance from today’s stepper motors.

The latest high performance torque motors and variable speed drives, from Parker Hannifin are playing an important role in a new and innovative range of extruders. Manufactured by Italian plastics machinery company, Ghioldi, the new extruders use Parker direct drive technology to offer significant reductions in energy consumption and also to minimise vibrations that can affect the quality of finished parts.
