Inspired by the growing adoption of its CFD application SC/Tetra within the HWPA, Software Cradle has expanded its offering to include STREAM through the innovative HyperWorks platform. Where SC/Tetra uses unstructured mesh to enable the calculation of complex geometries, the STREAM CFD software captures geometric shape as an approximated structured (Cartesian or cylindrical) mesh. This method is especially advantageous for design engineers in need of stability, high computational speed and low memory consumption for models with many parts composed of predominantly rectangular shapes. User friendly Wizard navigation makes it easy to set up analysis conditions and a wide range of solver functions ensure fast, functional results. STREAM also boasts a powerful postprocessor to visualize analysis results and create beautiful effects and animations for impressive presentations.
Applications of this technology include indoor air conditioning systems, environmental assessment of wind, and electronics cooling. Industries such as construction, civil engineering, electronics, chemical and automotive utilize STREAM’s MultiBlock meshing functions, material property library, high computational speed and robust calculation solver for their CFD analysis.
“I am very excited to announce that STREAM will be part of the HWPA in addition to SC/Tetra,” said Ichiro Komada, President of Software Cradle. “STREAM is a very mature and proven innovative CFD software as it has been in the market since 1984 and extensively used among most major Japanese general contractors as well as electronics companies. I hope and believe that STREAM can bring great innovation and advancement of technologies in various industries through the HWPA.”
HyperWorks is a suite of enterprise analytic applications that includes statistical, database, visualization and simulation software to help companies make better business decisions. Its patented HyperWorks Units licensing technology allows users to transparently share software licenses globally across a broad suite of applications.
“The success of Altair’s partnership with Software Cradle and the customer adoption of SC/Tetra have paved the way for the HyperWorks Partner Alliance to further expand its partner software offering” said Martin Nichols, Altair Executive Vice President of Global Alliances and Operations. “Making leading software applications such as STREAM available via the HyperWorks Partner Alliance presents the innovative technological solutions our users seek, as well as providing compelling value to our customers as a result of HyperWork’s highly cost effective business and delivery model.”
The addition of Software Cradle’s second CFD technology brings the total number of applications available under the HyperWorks platform to 57 including 29 third-party software applications such as STREAM. These applications enable users to maximize their current investment in HyperWorks licenses by giving their engineers and designers flexible access to a growing pool of leading technology solutions.
