It has been announced that Altair is pleased to add GE’s Flow Simulator software to the Altair Partner Alliance (APA) and offer direct licenses to Altair customers. Flow Simulator is an integrated flow, heat transfer, and combustion design software that enables mixed fidelity simulations to optimise machine and systems design.

Altair has released the 2018 versions of leading electromagnetic (EM) simulation software FEKO, WinProp, Flux and FluxMotor. These electromagnetic solver tools, part of Altair’s HyperWorks, the platform for Innovation, are widely used to accelerate the global design process for the automotive, aerospace, defense, communications, consumer electronics, energy, and healthcare industries.

Software for simulating electromagnetics and particles
Altair Engineering has announcedthe addition of Tech-X’s VSim to theAltair Partner Alliance(APA)’s software offering. VSim is a computational application for simulating electromagnetics in the presence of complex structures and dynamical charged particles. Because VSim supports massively parallel computing that scales to tens of thousands of processor cores, users are able to model complex geometries and more physical phenomena while still obtaining results within a reasonable amount of elapsed time.

Together Altair and Artemis Racing have applied design and simulation technology to help place Artemis Racing in a position to take it all in the 35th America’s Cup. The design of the daggerboards – foils that lift the boat out of the water to break the drag barrier – will be a critical differentiator between the competing teams as they have a significant impact on a boat’s performance.
