Altair Engineering, Inc announced that Cambric Corporation, a global provider of engineering services, is now using HyperWorks as its primary computer-aided engineering solution to serve its customers.
Cambric supplies collaborative engineering, process design, intelligent CAD data creation, and analysis services. Founded in 1989, Cambric combines high-caliber engineering talent, customized specification development, secure data environments, and a global infrastructure to provide best-in-class solutions to engineering and manufacturing organizations in industries such as automotive, aerospace, heavy equipment, and defense.

“We work for companies that are household names in industries that range from aerospace to consumer products,” said Cambric CEO Tim Hayes. “HyperWorks allows us to easily engage with customers that use a variety of solver technologies and CAD systems. Our clients expect us to be as efficient as possible, and we have found that we’re more efficient and responsive to our customers’ needs with HyperWorks.”

“Our company culture is dedicated to engineering excellence. And if you can combine excellent engineers with the right tools, they can deliver engineering excellence. This is our goal and I will say that Altair’s HyperWorks solution fits exactly into supporting this initiative.”

“Many of the projects we’re involved in are time-sensitive. The faster we can deliver results and direction, the faster our customers are to market, which is critical,” said Paul Spangler, Cambric vice president of business development. “The unique HyperWorks licensing model enables us to be very flexible in providing our global engineering staff with the right tools, when they need them, for the projects they’re working on.”

“We use HyperWorks extensively for modeling and visualization but a key driver in our decision was the suite’s widely accepted optimization technology, something that was missing from our previous solution,” said Bogdan Balasa, director of analysis technologies for Cambric. “With OptiStruct, we are able to perform detailed, robust optimization studies especially for the off-highway equipment market to drive the weight out of designs, minimize in-service down-time, and improve fuel efficiency.”

“We are very pleased that Cambric has selected HyperWorks as their simulation platform,” said Michael J. Kidder, Altair Engineering vice president of corporate marketing. “Their distributed, global workforce and international client base really highlight the power and value of the HyperWorks business model. We look forward to working with them as they continue to apply a broader range of HyperWorks applications to support their expansion into new markets and geographies.”
