Simulation shows material behaviour during heat treating

To quickly develop those custom services, TimkenSteel uses ANSYS Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions to simulate material behaviour during the heat treat process. These simulations reduce trial-and-error in the plant to optimize heat-treated steel products. TimkenSteel’s products are used in the manufacture of components for the agricultural, construction, military, mining, oil and gas, power generation and rail markets.

TimkenSteel, recently spun off by The Timken Company, manufactures a wide range of alloy, carbon and micro-alloy steel with an annual melt capacity of approximately 2m tons.
