Altair Engineering Inc announced today that the company will exhibit at this year’s Vehicle Dynamics Expo from June 16th – 18th in Stuttgart, Germany. Altair will present insights into the latest version of its product family – HyperWorks 10.0 – which will be released in May 2009. In addition to an enhanced browser handling, the company will also present the co-simulation capabilities of the software suite i.e. with DSHplus, a software solution of the Altair Partner Fluidon GmbH for controls and hydraulics simulation, the HyperWorks Partner Solution Program, and all other features relevant to the automotive industry. HyperWorks’ customers and members of the HyperWorks Enabled Community have access to all Altair and third party solutions included within the program and available via the flexible HyperWorks licensing system. With this licensing model, user will be able to handle all automotive relevant development tasks within the same framework.
“We are very pleased to present our latest HyperWorks release to the visitors of the Vehicle Dynamics Expo and are happy to present our solutions jointly with our software partner Fluidon,” said Dr. Michael Hoffmann, Vice President European Operations, Altair Engineering. “CAE has become an integral part of the automotive development process. HyperWorks 10.0 will further strengthen Altair’s position within the automotive industry. While in the past, simulation has been used to evaluate design alternatives, the focus is now on frontloading the use of CAE within the development chain to drive the design even before CAD data is available. This will lead to a condensed development effort, maximize performance and quality and minimize related costs. We see those needs and requirements in the daily work with our customers. To meet these requirements Altair Engineering is supplementing its Engineering Framework HyperWorks by a set of so-called “Directors” which streamline and automate the virtual testing for attributes like safety, durability, NVH, and vehicle dynamics and allow multi-attribute optimization. Examples on how to use these “Directors” within the development work at the automotive industry will be presented at our booth.”

Fluidon GmbH, the HyperWorks Enabled Partner specialist for controls and hydraulics simulation, will also be present at the Altair booth to present their software environment DSHplus. Altair and Fluidon will jointly present their complementary solutions for vehicle dynamics simulation.
