Variable speed drive comes in a compact design

An easy to install, operator friendly and energy efficient solution for controlling the speed of 1 and 3 phase fans, pumps, and conveyor systems has been introduced by Farnell element14. The Eaton DC1 is a straightforward commissioning process, compact design and user-friendly interface make it ideal for mass production applications in the field of machine building.

With 14 basic parameters the compact, variable-speed drive has simple mounting and installation requirements. A performance range of up to 11kW provides maximum flexibility and the integrated CANopen and Modbus RTU, a standard communication protocol, commonly available in order to connect industrial devices.

All models come with a seven digit display assembly and are available with an integrated EMC filter and an integrated braking transistor.

Additionally, modules can be easily plugged in making it possible to expand the number of I/Os.

Other features of the DC1 include a high overload capability: 150 % for 60 sec., 175 % for 2 sec; ambient air temperature of 50°C without derating (IP20); IP20 and IP66 protection; an integrated PI controller and V/F control with voltage boost.
