Control Panel System Service
Burkert is satisfying process industry demands for small and large systems that reduce costs and improve time to market, with a new extended design and build service for high-tech, pre-assembled MicroFluidic systems and custom- designed process control cabinets. Meeting the needs of markets such as food, beverage, process, chemical, pharmaceutical, medical/biomedical, water and oil and gas, the new extended service exploits Burkert’s unique ability to combine process and laboratory automation, valve elements, sensors, flowmeters, water treatment systems and networked communications into single source customised systems that deliver higher process efficiency and also higher yields with reduced wastage.
The scope of Burkert’s service involves complete project responsibility, from conception through design, manufacture, assembly and testing. It covers both small and large production runs, extends to integration of third-party equipment, and offers the key benefit of simplifying equipment designs; maing them more competitive, more compact and easier to assemble.

“What is increasingly evident, today, is that the complexity of modern machine designs cannot always be satisfied with either standard process control or MicroFluidic products,” said Irwin Hodgkiss, Manager of Burkert’s System Division. “The requirements for process systems, and the MicroFluidic systems used in medical, biomedical and analytical applications, are becoming ever more demanding. To meet these demands, specialised assemblies and enclosures are often required. This could involve Burkert in producing a totally individual design, or, more simply, modifying an existing product. Whatever the requirement, a team of engineers and technicians is always on hand to provide the most cost effective solution, and the closest correlation between market demands and equipment performance.”

“The design and assembly of high performance process control and MicroFluidic systems is a major growth area for Burkert both here in the UK and Europe,” continued Mr Hodgkiss “For example, at our Stroud facility we are providing products ranging from ATEX certified control cabinets, to MicroFluidic multi-station dosing and mixing units for DNA synthesis, to systems based on our new mxControl, multi- parameter controller, that fully automate and optimise water treatment and purification processes. Additional support is provided by Burkert’s modern and extensive European Systemhaus capability, with its highly experienced engineering staff.”

“We have the capacity to produce a wide range of customised manifolds, dosing heads, control boxes and process actuation valve islands, while integrating the very latest process valves, mass flow meters and controllers, proportional valves, actuators and process controllers into fieldbus-compatible systems. In addition, Burkert development teams can operate on site, working closely with customer’s engineers to design complete plug-and- play systems for a broad range of application requirements.”
