Providing consistently simple and fast commissioning, maximum machine throughput and operational reliability, YASKAWA has introduced a new range of AC Servo Drives. The compact Sigma-7 servos (200V series and 400V series) cover a wide power range from 50W up to 15kW in various formats with the largest motors offering a continuous torque of 95Nm and a peak 224Nm.

A compact and extremely fast CPU smart control and I/O system which combines a PLC CPU, digital and analog input / output channels along with additional channels and functions within a compact unit, is the latest product to be introduced by YASKAWA. The SLIO COMPACT CPU 013C is based on integrated SPEED 7 technology with 7100DEV processor ensuring outstanding performance and sets new standards for high clock rates and fast program processing.

Machine movements represent a major source of hazard for operators and staff members carrying out maintenance tasks. Typical situations requiring safe machine states occur during commissioning, in set-up mode, troubleshooting and when operating or maintenance personnel are required to approach the machine.

The merger of the two YASKAWA subsidiaries, specialists for the production of servo and inverter drives and robots respectively, is in line with the company's new marketing strategy for the world of automation. The step allows a more integrated customer service, generating further synergies and uniting the offering under one single brand name. In future, the new business units 'Robotics' and 'Drives and Motion' will operate under the roof of YASKAWA Europe, offering customers of both segments integrated solutions. Only very few competitors in the global market will be able to match the scope of YASKAWA's one-stop product portfolio of electric drives and industrial robots.

The new linear drive based YASKAWA handling system combines absolute precision with maximum dynamics and long service life. The system picks up, moves and precisely deposits weights of up to 1.5kg at cyberspeed.

The integration of linear motors into existing production and evaluation systems frequently is fairly complex and time-consuming task. YASKAWA’s new gantry system allows for simple, rapid integration into the manufacturing process, saving time, money and hassle. The plug-and-play all-in-one system meets all typical dynamic and precision requirements of customers in assembly, electronic PCB manufacturing, image processing and industrial automation. For the first time, YASKAWA will present its cartesian gantry systems at the Motek 2009 trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany.
