The ThreeBond 7700 Gold Label series of premium cyanoacrylate instant adhesives has recently been joined by the TB7737 and TB7738 offering ultra high peel and impact resistance by virtue of their added elastomer toughening. This strength enables the TB7737 and TB7738 to be used in areas where conventional “instants” would not survive, e.g. hotter/harsher environments. In addition, the Gold Label series is enhanced by the introduction of a new high-reliability multi-primer for instant adhesives – ThreeBond 7797 is especially valuable on difficult to bond plastics such as nylon, PBT, PE, PP and PTFE where it can produce orders of magnitude improvements in adhesion creating a performance comparable with recognised “no-problem” adherends such as metals and easy to bond plastics.

ThreeBond are pleased to announce a flame retardant version of their established TB1530 series 1-component moisture curing elastic adhesives. The TB1537 is certified to UL94 V-0 and is both phosphorous and halogen free. This makes it especially of interest in electronics/electrical applications such as bonding of inverters/converters onto substrate, motor coils, sensor potting, sealing of battery packs for laptops etc.

The TB2217H low temperature cure chip bonder from ThreeBond offers curing at 80°C and addresses an array of chip bonding issues for manufacturers and rework facilities. This single component epoxy offers ease of handling by syringe and full compatibility with automated dispensing systems to enable chip retention on pcb’s going through multi-station lines and wave soldering equipment.

Global adhesive manufacturers ThreeBond are delighted that their anaerobic 1300 series offers such a comprehensive spread of solutions for cleverly bonding the joints of all types of threads etc, preventing them from loosening or leaking. They are distinguished from ordinary adhesives and sealants by the fact that they remain liquid so long as they are in contact with air, and as they enter fine gaps in metal parts and become isolated from oxygen, they harden at normal temperature without shrinking.

ThreeBond’s 1530 product is a one-part, non-solvent elastic adhesive whose main component is a silyl-based special polymer which reacts rapidly upon exposure to moisture in the air and cures to form a toughened elastomer with time. Since there are no solvents or plasticisers contained in the adhesive it shows excellent non-staining characteristics against all materials and is over paintable. It provides excellent weather resistance, high adhesion strength to most substrates without the need for primer pre-treatment, and is environmentally friendly due to its low odour and non-isocyanate chemistry. This makes it ideal for multi-purpose bonding of metals (aluminium, steel, stainless, copper, plastics (polyacrylate, PPO, ABS, nylon, PC, FRP, PET, PPS, PBT etc. ) as well as many, many others such as wood, glass, canvas and rubbers from chloroprene and EPDM to silicone.

Cyanoacrylates – “instant” adhesives are brilliant assembly products – general purpose, quick setting, simple to apply. But that general formula can be significantly improved, as the introduction of 1770 series light curing “instants” by market leaders ThreeBond has demonstrated. Light curing not only accelerates the final cure time to approximately 10 seconds ( can be up to 24 hours for full cure without light activation ) but also deals with issues such as bleaching/blooming and slow curing excess. It also aids curing in wide gaps, and by using both moisture and light cure ensures a quick thorough cure where light cure alone would be affected by obscuring non-transparent material.

ThreeBond’s recently introduced 1359E adhesive is a universal quick curing one component reactive adhesive on the basis of acrylate. It is especially suited to use in electric motors – for example in bonding ferrite magnets in all types of motor from prime-mover to servo or computer drives and other micro electronics. Applications may be found everywhere from consumer products to industrial equipment including electronic, office, audio, energy saving and information related equipment.

Given the increasing popularity of UV curing adhesives, it is interesting that ThreeBond have recently introduced the 30F-404 one-component adhesive which can be cured by UV and/or visible light between 200 and 400nm.

ThreeBond TB1215 is a single component premier specification engineering liquid silicone gasket now available in 200g pressurised canister with finger-tip control nozzle for installation, maintenance and repair situations. It is ideal for anyone with flanges to seal against water or oil in general engineering, power plants, power transmission, marine engines, gearboxes or agricultural equipment. TB1215 is also used extensively in high-tech, high-quality applications within the motorcycle or car performance aftermarkets and motorsport sectors.

Market leaders ThreeBond recently announced the general release of their unique TB1133E next generation anaerobic gasket. Building on the acknowledged benefit of anaerobics to be dispensed and then permit component placement at leisure, TB1133E offers enhanced vibration tolerance and user-friendly characteristics. This enables greater confidence in established applications such as gearboxes and cam covers, while opening up uses in sealing of complex areas such as automatic transmissions, transfer cases etc. In particular, it is screen printable and so offers significant time savings against robotic dispensing on intricate 2D shapes proving especially valuable where elimination of potential oil gallery blockage is paramount.

Generic Cyanoacrylates have earned the reputation of “instant” adhesives from their ability to be used immediately with little preparation and to cure in very short time periods. ThreeBond TB7700 Gold Series now takes that a stage further with Ultra-fast curing (as low as 2 seconds), very high initial bond strength and enhanced substrate applicability, even encompassing porous or hard-to-bond materials such as PBT, PCM or PPS. It is expected that all types of industrial user will find Gold Standard TB7700 a significant advance over conventional cyanoacrylates.
