To minimise losses, reduce energy costs and enhance control, sea food company Selsea Fish & Lobster has installed Parker Hannifin’s AC30 Variable Speed Drives (VSDs). The unusual application centres on keeping lobsters and crabs fresh by pumping seawater over them.

Parker Hannifin has added a resolver feedback option to the AC30P and AC30D units from its highly capable AC30 range of variable speed drives (VSDs). Updated firmware offers new diagnostic features, on-board communications and support for closed-loop control of PMAC motors when fitted with the new 7004-05-00 resolver feedback option. This enhanced capability makes even the most advanced application accessible to every user.

As a part of its global focus on factory automation, Parker Hannifin has added smart connectivity of its pneumatic valve islands to machine controllers by introducing new IO-Link modules that can be quickly integrated with existing Parker valve ranges. Ethernet based protocol independent and vendor neutral, this new module offers plug-and-play valve compatibility for customers currently using Industrial Ethernet, meaning they can benefit from similar performance and reduced system complexity at a lower cost.

  Parker Hannifin’s Precision Fluidics Division has announced the release of its newest model for the miniature proportional valve VSO LowPro for OEMs looking for innovation in size, power, and manufacturability when controlling the flow rate of inert gases.

Collaborating together Parker Hannifin and Hungarian engineering solutions firm evopro, have provided an electro-hydraulic drive solution for an innovative zero-emission urban bus. The MODULObus concept was designed and developed by evopro and manufactured in Budapest by IKARUS Egyedi Autóbusz Gyártó Kft. from composite materials.

An advanced software solution is now being offered from Parker Hannifin, for its AC10 range of compact Variable Speed Drives (VSDs). The company’s DSE Lite is more advanced than other software offered for comparable VSDs used in general purpose industrial motor control applications. Furthermore, not only does it offer comprehensive yet user-friendly programming capabilities, but is available to download free-of-charge with every AC10 purchase.

Joining a select group of companies that have successfully achieved ‘ready to supply’ status, Instrumentation Products Division, Europe of Parker Hannifin, are now part of the Fit For Nuclear (F4N) programme. F4N is designed to assist UK manufacturing companies in taking advantage of opportunities within the country’s rapidly developing £60bn civil nuclear new build programme.

Parker aim to provide extra flexibility across all of its product ranges, and its Servo Fan kit, designed for use with the SMH/SMB series servo motors proves this. Most motors are specified with a maximum rating however this Servo Fan kit cools the motor, thus allowing extra performance over and above the specified torque rating, in this case as much as 25%. 

  When it comes to new product introduction, the key requirement for Parker is flexibility. In an age when customers are demanding more from products, the new PVL-B2 series of in line valves have been designed to meet all machine configurations thus delivering in built flexibility.

The release of new stainless steel solenoid valves has been announced by the Fluid Control Division Europe of Parker Hannifin. The 221G range offers unrivalled resistance to corrosion and aggressive chemicals, and with its ATEX certification, is suited to use in explosive environments.

For use in challenging environments outside of the cabinet, Parker Hannifin, has unveiled Servonet DC, a double-axis servo drive built in a IP67 rated housing. Target applications include packaging machines and rotary tables where numerous drives and motors are present.

  Automation group of Parker Hannifin, the Fluid Control Division, has extended its portfolio of cartridge valves with the introduction of a range of new miniature solenoid valves.

Parker Hannifin has announced the release of its VSO MAX HP miniature high flow proportional valve.

Parker Hannifin has introduced its EY series of ATEX-rated PMAC (Permanent Magnet AC) servomotors. Certified for safe-running in ATEX Zone 2 (for gas and dust atmospheres) at up to 40 or 60°C, the cost-effective new servomotors achieve speeds of up to 6800 rpm and power output up to 6.5 kW.

Parker Hannifin has increased its range of frameless Permanent Magnet AC (PMAC) motors with the introduction of the low voltage K Series. These servo motors are particularly suitable for use by machine builders in applications where compactness, reliability, precision and cost-effectiveness are critical. The CE-certified K Series helps simplify machine design as both the rotor and stator are directly implemented inside the system. With low voltage capability starting from 12VAC, the K motor series cover a speed range up to 10,000 rpm, and continuous torque to 23Nm. The K Series is ideal for applications such as rotating tables, compressors and mixers, plus many others in industries such as food & beverage, packaging and life sciences.

Parker Hannifin will once again see its GVM electric motor technology featured on electric superbikes that will take part in the Isle of Man zero-emission TT Zero race to be held on the 8th June. 

The Automation Group of Parker Hannifin has recently completed one year on the road with its exhibition vehicle. The truck has completed more than 24,000 miles, travelled to 14 countries and has been visited by more than 4600 customers. The vehicle takes Parker Automation’s latest products and technologies directly to the customer with demonstrations and explanations from Parker engineers to help solve application challenges.

Parker Hannifin will focus on its latest miniature fluidics technologies at the forthcoming Analytica 2016 exhibition in Munich on 10-13 May. Among the products showcased will be the R9 miniature diaphragm isolation valve, and the VSO LowPro and VSO Max HP miniature proportional valves. These advanced, compact products are intended to help analytical device designers create the lightweight, low power, portable solutions needed by patients to ensure they can receive the required healthcare with the minimum impact on their day-to-day lives.
