The range of force and load cell instrumentation accessories at Ixthus Instrumentation has been expanded with two high performance digital strain gauge signal conditioning modules from its USA distribution partner Strainsert.

A new multifunctional software application has been released by Riftek which utilises the RF625 series 2D laser scanners for automated seam tracking and measurement with welding robots. Available with full support in the in the UK & Ireland from Ixthus Instrumentation - Riftek´s distributor - the Riftek Lamia software is intended for recognising, tracking and measuring geometric parameters of objects such as weld seams in accordance with a selected maths algorithm which is derived from a template.

  The two new Hardy Portable Shakers from Metrix Instrument are available exclusively in the UK from Ixthus Instrumentation, and offer significant enhancements for self-contained vibration condition monitoring and sensor validation.

Laser-based rail measurement instruments for wheel diameter, profile and back-to-back from RIFTEK are now available from Ixthus Instrumentation. With its engineered systems knowledge and range of sensors and transducers, Ixthus Instrumentation designs and supplies complete measurement solutions for displacement, force, torque and vibration.

Aimed at force measurement in space restricted assemblies or where discreet and minimal weight installation is important, are Burster’s 8416 and 8417 series tension and compression load cells. Now available in lower full-range measurement options to 0-20N, these miniature stainless steel sensors are available as the disc type 8416 series or the dual threaded 8417 series for simple screw mounting.

RIFTEK, represented  by Ixthus Instrumentation, has expanded its range of specialist laser triangulation wheel measurement gauges for the rail and tram industries with a new model that is designed to address the problem of restricted space for device placement. Aimed at metro, light rail and tram wheel maintenance and inspection, the IDK Compact has a measurement base (distance between ball supports) of only 122 mm and the gauge can measure wheel diameters from 400 to 750 mm. 

The recently announced 8661 series dual-range precision torque sensor with USB interface from Burster GmbH is now available from Ixthus Instrumentation, the German precision sensor manufacturer’s UK supply partner. With a single sensor covering two torque ranges  - 0…5 Nm and 0…200 Nm -  the new 8661 model is raising the standards bar and the convenience for the measurement of static and bi-directional torque for the laboratory, production test and quality assurance.  

Metrix recently announced ATEX approval for its Digital Proximity System (DPS). Available with full support in the UK from Ixthus Instrumentation, the Metrix DPS is a three-part field-configurable measurement system for position, radial vibration and speed that comprises a digital proximity transducer, interfacing cable and a choice of signal conditioner - available as a driver for a machinery protection system or as a transmitter with a 4-20 mA signal to a PLC/DCS or SCADA system. 

Now available in the UK from Ixthus Instrumentation, Burster’s new TRANS CAL 7281 is a high precision hand-held portable test and calibration tool for sensor components used on equipment such as hydraulic presses, torque tools, high precision measuring devices and pressure-regulating systems on assembly lines. The battery or mains powered instrument supports strain gauge/normalized signal ± 5 V, ± 10 V, and potentiometric sensors; and includes a strain gauge simulator up to 50 mV/V. Combined with a reference sensor the device provides a high-precision reference measurement chain for force or torque etc. The compact instrument can also be used for routine testing to measure and record isolation resistances and input/output resistances, and as a fault-finding tool for service engineers. An optional factory calibration certificate and/or German accredited DAkkS calibration certificate is available when the measurement device needs to be used as a reference. 

Ixthus Instrumentation’s new VLPSC series linear position sensors provide precise displacement measurement with teach-mode calibration for zero and span in addition to autosensing 0 -10 VDC or 4..20 mA outputs. With a choice of nine electrical travel ranges from 25 to 290 mm, these robust and competitively priced sensors combine tried and tested conductive plastic element technology and integrated signal conditioning electronics to offer a 12-bit resolution, linearity to 0.1% and high positional repeatability.

Available exclusively in the UK and Ireland from Ixthus Instrumentation, NCTE’s new 7500 series torque and angle measurement sensor is aimed at convenient and cost effective solutions for power take off (PTO) shafts in agricultural and forestry machinery where it will help ensure the safe operation of connected equipment such as grain augers and silage blowers.

For accurate wheel diameter measurement in less than 30 seconds, RIFTEK’s simple-to-use IDK series gauge is a robust and effective tool for maintenance engineers. Its three point measurement principle offers averaging of multiple readings to give one clear diameter value - without the need for complete wheel coverage.

The recently announced expanded capabilities of the Metrix SETPOINT machinery protection system are now available in the UK from Ixthus Instrumentation.

Metrix offers the Vibralert® Mechanical Switch for economical vibration protection for low to medium speed machinery. The Metrix 5550 meets all requirements for mechanical switches in a single, affordable weatherproof package, with optional IS hazardous area rating. Whilst it is a simple mechanical switch it can be supplied with local and remote reset options with an adjustable start-up delay to ensure no false alarms.

Metrix Instrument Co, supplier of vibration monitoring solutions for critical machinery, has announced the appointment of Ixthus Instrumentation as its new distributor in the UK.

The new FTS fibre optic displacement sensors are designed for flight test applications. Weighing just 175 grams, the sensor electronics feature a 25 x 50 x 75 mm enclosure with MIL-DTL-83513 Micro-D connector for power and output signals.

Ixthus Limited, the non-contacting position measurement specialist has launched a new laser triangulation sensor with a CANbus interface capable of fast 1 Mbits/s position feedback over a measurement range from 2 mm to 1000 mm. With linearity to +/- 0.1% of range and resolution to 0.01% of range, the RF603 from Riftek is well suited for high precision position feedback.

Both models are battery powered, portable and have a built-in reference accelerometer and indicator with traceable calibration.
