Ixthus Instrumentation’s wheel diameter gauge provides fast and accurate rolling circle measurement

For accurate wheel diameter measurement in less than 30 seconds, RIFTEK’s simple-to-use IDK series gauge is a robust and effective tool for maintenance engineers. Its three point measurement principle offers averaging of multiple readings to give one clear diameter value - without the need for complete wheel coverage.

The lightweight and practical design allows for ease-of-use either trackside or from a pit below. Offering excellent resolution to 0.01mm from its large LED display, the unit has a wheel diameter measurement range from 600 mm to 1300 mm and weighs only 0.5Kg, The IDK features a robust all metal construction for maximum durability and is powered from integral mains-rechargeable batteries.

The IDK-BT version includes a Bluetooth output for connection to the PDA and PC based database management system software to provide data storage for wheel-set wear tracking.

As part of its wide range of non-contact position, force & torque sensors, weighing technologies and condition monitoring equipment, Ixthus Instrumentation provides full technical support and calibration services for this and the other RIFTEK railway gauging products including wheel and disk brake profile gauges, back-to-back distance measuring gauges and laser systems for power rail position dynamic control.
