Banner Engineering has expanded the capabilities of its Q4X series of laser distance sensors, allowing them to be used in several new applications. The series now includes an analog model to measure distance and a discrete model with expanded capability to detect clear objects and contrast changes. 

Banner Engineering introduces the WLS28-2MQ motion detector switch for automated lighting. Banner’s motion detector switches provide an efficient solution to automatically turn on or off the light in applications where a physical switch cannot be used or the placement of the switch is not useful.

Banner Engineering introduces its wireless vibration and temperature sensor. Designed to effectively monitor machines for increases in vibration and temperature, the sensor measures RMS velocity in inches per second or millimeters per second, and temperature. This enables the sensor to identify machine problems before they become too severe and cause additional damage or result in unplanned down time.

Banner Engineering has expanded its L-GAGE LE family of laser sensors with the LE250 and LE550 Dual Discrete laser sensors. Designed with the same robust housing, intuitive interface and linear array technology as Banner’s analog models, the dual discrete laser sensors provide outstanding performance for challenging detection applications.

Banner Engineering introduces the Q3X laser contrast sensor. With the ability to detect up to 2,000 events per second, the Q3X provides high-speed, reliable detection of parts, tools, pallets or registration marks with small contrast differences. The Q3X has a small laser spot and is an excellent sensor for reliable part presence, tool-in-place or broken tool detection in stamping and machining centers.

Banner Engineering announces the Q4X laser distance sensor. Featuring superior, versatile sensing performance, the Q4X reliably detects distance changes as small as 1 mm and covers a 25 to 300 mm range across multiple target colors, materials and surfaces. With the ability to detect presence/absence of a target or an object’s orientation, the Q4X solves a variety of sensing applications.

Banner Engineering introduces the EZ-LIGHT TL70 modular tower light. Offering superior flexibility, the TL70 can be customized as needed, and allows for easy position changes in the field. The big, bright 70-mm tower features advanced LED drive technology, providing highly visible operator guidance and equipment status indication.

Banner Engineering announces the XS26-2 expandable safety controller. With the capability to add up to eight expansion I/O modules, the XS26-2 platform was designed to easily adapt to diverse automation requirements and address a wide range of safeguarding applications. The base controller models have 26 input terminals, four terminals for two redundant safety PNP outputs and a USB connection for loading configurations. Base models are available with an optional on-board display or an embedded Ethernet IP/Modbus TCP capability for access to live I/O status and system diagnostics to assist in troubleshooting and commissioning.

A new generation of vision and barcode sensors offering multiple tools and resolution options in each unit has been introduced by Banner Engineering. The iVu Plus Gen2 line includes integral and remote screen models for use in a wide range of inspection, machine vision and quality control applications. 

Banner Engineering has expanded its line of R-GAGE QT50R radar sensors with four new models to reliably detect moving or stationary objects. Designed to meet flexible application requirements and weather conditions, the enhanced line of radar sensors are ideal for collision avoidance on mobile equipment, outdoor crane-to-crane proximity detection, high-volume parking and vehicle detection and flatbed or box truck detection at loading docks.

Banner Engineering recently celebrated “Sensor Zone Preview Night” at The Works Museum, a hands-on museum aimed at engaging families and children ages 5 to 12 with engineering, science and technology. The company contributed more than $35,000 in products to help the museum bring its newest exhibit, Sensor Zone, to life.

Banner Engineering adds the Machine-Mountable Remote Display to its industry-recognized line of iVu Vision products. The Machine-Mountable Remote Display enables users to view the iVu sensor image remotely and serves as a constant monitoring and user programming interface, without interference from electrical noise.

An innovative illuminated Emergency Stop button and a Safety Light Curtain with integral Muting have been introduced by Banner Engineering. The applications it can be used in are: Appliance, Automotive, Food Processing, Industrial machinery, Metalworking, Mining, Packaging, Bottling, Paper, Pharmaceuticals, Plastics, Printing, and Semiconductor.

Banner Engineering expands its line of emergency stop buttons with the Surface Flush Mount E-Stop. The new 40-mm emergency stop buttons are designed to easily mount to a wall or other flat surface without disassembling or individual wiring.

Banner Engineering announces the QM26 and the QMH26 photoelectric sensors, designed specifically for food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Influenced by the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act, the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group and food safety initiatives among private businesses, Banner wanted to ensure the sensors provided reliable performance in manufacturing and packaging zones, including contact zones, splash zones and non-contact zones.

Banner Engineering introduces the EZ-LIGHT K80FL and K80FDL to its comprehensive line of indicator lights. The K80FL and K80FDL feature a large, flat face to deliver clear, easy-to-discern status indication both up close and at long distances. The K80FL delivers distinct, even lighting and is available in nine different colours; while the K80FDL provides extremely bright, intense light, making it ideal for outdoor use, and is available in six colours.

Banner Engineering recently released a new tower light configurator, an online tool that allows users to customize tower light selections and view related information. The new tool was designed for a variety of operating systems including iPad and Android tablets.

Banner Engineering announces the SureCross Q45 Remote Device model, the latest addition to the company’s line of wireless sensors. The Q45 RD model is capable of interfacing with isolated dry contacts or PNP outputs, allowing the RD to interface with almost any digital sensor.

Banner Engineering celebrated the opening of its Seoul office. Establishing a South Korean office is a strategic move to provide advanced technical support and improved communication to Banner's existing distributors in Korea, and offer localized products to Korean-based customers.
