Arrow Electronics has signed an agreement to offer the full range of R3 Communications’ ECHORING wireless networking products in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). ECHORING supports ultra-reliable, low-latency wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) communications that deliver similar performance to current wired systems.  

Arrow Electronics has joined forces with ADLINK and Microsoft to launch an IoT solution to help industrial customers reduce costly unplanned production shutdowns by enabling machine condition monitoring. The solution is a continuation of Arrow’s IoT aggregation program that helps industrial companies quickly, securely and cost-effectively deploy and scale projects.   

Arrow Electronics has joined the MindSphere Partner Program, Siemens’ program for industrial IoT solution and technology providers. MindSphere is the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens that connects products, plants, systems and machines, enabling businesses to harness the wealth of data generated by the IoT with advanced analytics.

A partnership between Arrow Electronics and Shiratech has created the Body Cam 1.0 and ICOMOX development platforms for image streaming and industrial condition monitoring, respectively. Both leverage Shiratech’s platform-on-module know-how to solve hardware design and integration challenges, and let users begin application development immediately.

OEMs and end users building powerful Internet of Things (IoT) applications for businesses will be the target for Arrow Electronics through its new distribution agreement with Solair, a young technology innovator. Solair is an application platform for the Internet of Things that makes businesses smarter by connecting them with their products through compelling IoT applications.

A wide-ranging and all-embracing set of seminars on the Internet of Things (IoT) are being planned by Arrow Electronics. The IoT in Focus tour will encompass locations in Germany, France, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Austria, and Switzerland and cover connectivity and embedded applications, system integration, big data and the cloud.

Arrow Electronics EMEA has been chosen by STMicroelectronics (ST) as a specialist distribution partner for ST’s SPEAr embedded microprocessor family. Arrow was selected from among ST’s distribution network owing to its extensive engineering services capability and total solution provision, including the Arrow Embedded Platform Concept (EPC). An EPC board based on SPEAr processors is currently under development.

Arrow Electronics has presented a series of new development modules based on the Arrow Embedded Platform Concept (EPC). Since its introduction in 2009, the distributor has continually expanded the EPC concept with new hardware, software and engineering services to deliver system solutions for a wide range of potential industries and enable the rapid market launch of new applications.

Arrow Electronics has announced agreements with MPC Data and Adeneo Embedded that will allow the distributor to offer European customers the possibility of free technical support when designing products based on Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7).

Arrow Electronics announced that Andy King has been named vice president of engineering and marketing for Arrow EMEA. In this role, King takes overall responsibility for Arrow’s supplier business relations and engineering services strategies in the EMEA region. He will report to Brian McNally, president of Arrow EMEA Components.

Arrow has further strengthened its EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) teams in two market sectors with the announcement of a pair of strategic appointments. Rob Maycroft has been appointed to the newly created position ASIC Business Development Manager, Arrow EMEA. Bill Ramsdale has been named Mil/Aero Business Development Manager, Arrow EMEA.
