ABLE's hazardous area clamp-on ultrasonic portable flow meter accurately measures liquid flow rates whilst providing the added performance, safety, economy and convenience of a non-intrusive design. Utilising a new battery pack design, this new high-precision Transit time Ultrasonic flow meter has been specially designed by ABLE to provide all the functionality of the fixed 1010 liquid flow computer in a fully portable self powered unit. A gas version is also available.

Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Service, acting on the advice of one of its Fire Board’s constituent local authorities’ scientific advisory services namely, Glasgow Scientific Services, has recently purchased ABLE’s Mercury Detection System for its technical support teams and mobile technical support laboratory.

Non Intrusive Flow Metering Systems for National Grid

Two electrically driven centrifugal compressors, using a variable frequency drive system, are to be installed at National Grid’s gas terminal at St Fergus to complement the existing compression facilities. National Grid awarded a contract to design, procure and construct the new compressor units to the joint venture of Land & Marine and IMEG.

ABLE is pleased to announce the award of the field instrument package for the natural gas pipeline connection linking EDF Energy’s new 1,300MW combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station at its West Burton site in Nottinghamshire to the National Grid National Transmission System (NTS), some 12 miles away, at Grayingham, Lincolnshire.

ABLE announces Explosion-Proof One Series Pressure Switch
ABLE is pleased to announce the availability of the new One Series Ex d, an explosion-proof electronic pressure and temperature switch for Class I, Division 1 (Zone 1) hazardous locations. Based on the One Series 2W, 4W and 8W electronic design, the One Series Ex d 2X, 4X and 8X models provide an explosion-proof enclosure based on ABLE’s popular 120 Series mechanical switches. Using the same “footprint” as the 120 Series and adding programmable digital electronics, the One Series Ex d is ideally suited for the rigors of critical areas classified as harsh and hazardous. The conduit openings, sensor port and mounting holes are in the same locations as the 120 Series for easy installation.
