Simple, flexible and highly economical robotic arm
As far as R. A. Rodriguez is aware, there is nothing to compare with its new Universal Robot. It’s a small, light weight industrial robot arm that has six axes of movement and above all is exceptionally quick and easy to install. A specially developed graphical user interface means no expert programming is needed. Within a couple of hours it can be ready to run. The Universal Robot truly provides plug-and-play productivity.
Universal Robot can benefit virtually every manufacturer and really comes into its own where traditional robots are considered to be too large, too expensive, too noisy or not sufficiently flexible. It is the ideal entry level automation device which can be set up by anyone and operates from a standard 240V electrical supply.

As the Universal Robot weighs just 18 kg it is easily moved around and requires no dedicated base. As a result it can automate a variety of tasks in the production environment for which reprogramming is quickly achieved via a 12 inch touch-sensitive screen. It has a working radius of 85 cm, can handle a payload of 5kg and its joints can rotate at up to 180° a second; repeatability is accurate to ±0.1mm.

Unlike other robots, this new addition to the R. A. Rodriguez range consumes little power, typically less than 200W when using an average programme. It also generates much less noise than larger, more complex robots. With a footprint of just 149mm diameter the Universal Robot is supplied with an electrical interface that is compatible with most industrial sensors and PLCs.
