BUCKS COUNTY COUNCIL ANSWERS THE CALL WITH PROCESSING & AUTO ATTENDANT SYSTEM
Always looking for ways to provide an even quicker and more efficient service to its ratepayers, Buckinghamshire County Council has installed the state-of-the-art Interalia XMU+. The multi-functional auto attendant and call processing system is now handling large volumes of calls that would be impossible to respond to by live attendants alone
In existence for almost 115 years, Buckinghamshire County Council has in recent times changed the shape and way it manages the day to day running of Council business to meet the challenges of Best Value. The Council's telephone system did not have sufficient capacity or functionality to meet the growing demands for information relating to school term dates, office opening hours and general queries. As these types of calls were substantially increasing, as the County's population expands, and taking up more and more of the attendants' time, it was felt that by installing a call processing and auto attendant facility operators could provide a better service answering more complex enquiries.

Looking for a dependable system that would provide it with a single platform to answer frequently asked questions as well as call routing and messaging/music on hold, the Council chose the Interalia XMU+ as it was able to provide it with all these tasks as well as having the capability to be expanded as additional functions and lines were required.

The Interalia XMU+ purchased by Buckinghamshire County Council been supplied with 8 ports and have since added a further 8 ports for additional capacity. A stand-alone unit, it fills the gap between the simple passive announcer and voice-mail or IVR systems. Delivering call processing, Audiotext and music/messaging-on-hold, the XMU is compatible with all major telephone systems and is easy to install and operate.

The XMU+ offers numerous highly developed features. It enables companies to create a time-and-date stamp that automatically activates messages for holidays and prescheduled events up to one year in advance. The system can in addition play a specific message during peak hours to alert callers of extended waiting times or indicate when their call will be answered. Offering between 1 to 63 port systems and from 2 minutes to 2 hours recording time, the XMU is one of the most advanced announcement/call processing systems available today.
