STAG – Specialist Technologies Aerospace Group – are delighted to have been awarded the 2008 Franco-British Business Award. This recognises special achievement in Anglo-French co-operation and is presented each year by the French Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, specifically encompassing companies with under 5000 employees. The independent jury includes top UK and French industrialists and political figures judging on the basis of Market Approach, Results, Commitments, Outlook and Imports, looking at British companies’ activities in France.
Says Group Director Thibaut de Bouillane: “The award focused on our application of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) in the Aerospace Supply Chain. We are delighted that the jury understood the technicality of our innovation which enables us to greatly speed up and simplify the real-time management of complex supply chains. STAG is a relatively small company, having significant global impact based on an innovative approach with offices in the UK, France and USA, and backed by excellent relationships with a very large number of original equipment suppliers.”

Chris Osborne, Operations Director of SpecTech France described how the system was developed: “In France we have taken the best features of proven RFID tagging and combined them with the STAG Group remote access software package that both interrogates real-time stock values and actions the upstream replenishment process all the way to the manufacturer. This Anglo-French co-operative development can be applied to virtually any proprietary binning system to produce a true KANBAN operation with minimal staffing and optimal timing. This ensures that the same level of supply performance is available to military based customers as for civil oriented companies. Typically this can involve in the order of 100,000 plus lines of forecasted demand enabling visual oversight of anomalous trends in producing and actioning weekly purchasing schedules.”
