In the latter stages of his apprenticeship, Daniel will also be learning some of the firm’s technical specialisms, which include Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Thermal Imaging and Ultrasound techniques for Machine Condition Monitoring.
Daniel said: “I’ve really enjoyed my in-class training at TTE’s brilliant facilities, it’s given me a broad understanding of engineering and the various disciplines involved, but now I’m really looking forward to getting into the workplace and using those skills in a practical scenario.
“I became interested in AVT because they offer the chance of a very interesting career in Condition Based Maintenance using latest technologies; and everyone I have met so far has been really helpful and knowledgeable.”
The apprenticeship forms part of a wider partnership between AVT and TTE Training Ltd. Due to AVT’s highly specialised work, it has provided a Spi-VR hand-held vibration analysis system to the training provider and is training tutors how to use it so that engineering apprentices can learn some of their specialist skills.
Steve Mottershead, managing director of AVT, said: “The specialist nature of a lot of our work has prevented us in the past from taking on apprentices, so it’s great to be able to work with a training provider to spot young talent and expose them to the type of work that we do, and hopefully spark their interest in it!”
