AVT boosts machinery certification capability with new appointment
Engineering consultancy, AVT Technology, (AVT), has strengthened its machinery certification capability with the appointment of a new Compliance Engineer.
Peter Rowe brings over 30 years’ engineering experience from the aerospace, automation, robotics and offshore sectors to the South Manchester-based consultancy.

He will be responsible for assessing manufacturing equipment for certification against published standards, exploring methods to improve assessment and providing on and off-site advice to new and existing clients. He will also support the Senior Compliance Engineer in growing the scope of support AVT can offer clients in achieving the appropriate certification and validation of their products and equipment.

Peter joins AVT from one of the world’s leading automation contractors, Electroimpact, working at AirBus’s manufacturing facility in Broughton. Before this, he worked for KUKA, in sales, engineering and management roles, and established Kawasaki as a robot supplier in Europe.

On his new role, Peter said: “AVT is a dynamic business with some great plans for the future, which I hope to play an instrumental part in moving forward. After spending eight years working in the oil industry and 25 years working in robotics and automation, I wanted to focus on a broader based engineering role. The role with AVT will allow me to share my practical and technical expertise with a wider audience, and add value to the service the consultancy already delivers to clients.”

Neil Parkinson, Technical Director at AVT said: “Peter has a vast knowledge of machine certification, having worked across a wide range of sectors. He will be a valuable addition to the team and his appointment caps off a successful year for AVT. We are growing our teams across the entire business to further enhance our capacity to provide an unparalleled multi-disciplinary engineering service in the UK and internationally.”
