Following the publication of the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations, Hager has launched an industry-first automated chatbot to support electrical professionals with the revised regulations. As part of Hager’s wider ‘Regs Live’ programme, Reg, Hager’s automated chatbot, will provide a source of expert information; answering questions the professional electrician community has to help keep them up-to-speed with all things 18th Edition-related.
With the thriving #HagerGang community on Twitter, Hager has launched its chatbot to widen the support it will be offering to electrical contractors. As part of the business’ commitment to assist the industry and electricians during a time of change, the chatbot, which can be found on Hager’s Regs Live Facebook page, will provide access to expert knowledge and compliant product guidance.
Ian Smith, Marketing Manager for Hager, said: “As our industry enters a period of significant change, it’s important we, as manufacturers and distributors, are able to help electrical contractors to successfully navigate this change. Our automated chatbot, Reg, will be on hand 24/7 to provide contractors with technical support on the 18th Edition, all of which has been developed alongside our in-house Regs Live team.
“Social media is a powerful communication tool, so by combining the reach of Facebook together with our industry-first automated chat bot, we will be providing ongoing support to contractors to ensure the transition to the 18th Edition is a smooth one.”
In addition to online support available via Reg, Hager is also taking its ‘Regs Live’ initiative out on the road during the year to help ensure the industry has a full working understanding of the changes once the new regulations come into full force on 1st January 2019.
