WYKO, an ERIKS Company, has opened its first branch in Nigeria on the Ikeja Industrial Estate in Lagos. The branch’s official opening took place on 30th October and was attended by a number of key dignitaries including Engineer Olatunde Olokunola the Lagos State Government Representative, Richard Powell the British Deputy High Commissioner and Marjo Crompuoets the Deputy Head of Mission, Dutch High Commission.

Endevco announces relocation of European logistics operation to new distribution center in Switzerland

Endevco Corporation has announced a relocation of its European logistics operation. The logistics operation has been migrated from the Endevco Vertriebs facility in Eckental, Germany, to a new physical distribution center at the Endevco/Vibro-Meter SA facility at Rte de Moncor 4, CH-1701 Fribourg, Switzerland. Existing contacts for customer support will remain unchanged.

Virginia Tech Engineering Students Use NI LabVIEW to Develop a Fully Autonomous Humanoid Robot
Engineering students from the Robotics & Mechanisms Laboratory (RoMeLa) at Virginia Tech have developed a bipedal humanoid robot using the National Instruments LabVIEW graphical system design platform. The Dynamic Anthropomorphic Robot with Intelligence (DARwIn) was originally developed to study human locomotion for the research and development of prosthetic limbs. DARwIn achieves full range of motion and accurately imitates human movement so effectively that it was quickly modified to play soccer for entry into RoboCup, an international robotic soccer competition created to promote research in robotics, artificial intelligence and related fields. As a result, it has been accepted as the first-ever U.S. entry into RoboCup in the humanoid division.
