NVision Scanners Provide Crucial Evidence

NVision Scanners Provide Crucial Evidence
Materials Analysis, Inc., has used NVision’s non-contact MAXOS measurement system and HandHeld Scanner to provide critical assistance in a number of recent product liability cases. “The high levels of accuracy provided by non-contact scanning can often rule out hypothesized causes of accidents. In one case they even served as a benchmark to prove that a defect was too small to be adequately documented, preventing the evidence from being irreversibly altered by unnecessary sectioning,” said Mark Allen Lewis, Staff Engineer for Materials Analysis. “Another key advantage of scanning is the ability to quickly generate electronic solid models that are much easier for non-technical people to visualize than blueprints.”

SILENT KNIGHT FIRE ALARM IP COMMUNICATOR CUTS COSTS, SPEEDS RESPONSE

Silent Knight by Honeywell introduces an IP Communicator designed to enable the transmission of fire alarm system information to a central monitoring station via any standard IP (Internet Protocol) line. By sharing a facility's existing IP line, the IP Communicator eliminates the cost of two phone lines for fire alarm communications and monitoring. In the case of one New York retail establishment, this resulted in a savings of nearly $800 a year.

But wait! There's more: Seeing with UV

But wait! There's more: Seeing with UV
Ultraviolet light is something the human eye can't see but that UV cameras can. The spectral response of the human eye is limited to seeing in the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum in wavelengths between 400 and 750 nm (which is the same radiation spectrum used in normal photography).

The Energy Event 2010 8th and 9th September The National Motorcycle Museum, Stand no. 16
Infrared is the perfect technology for spotting and stopping energy loss, and there is now a wide choice of cameras on the market for the purpose. However, what’s really starting to differentiate world leader FLIR from the rest is its focus on making its infrared cameras smarter. As well as improving hardware performance FLIR is committed to the parallel development of software and communication technology. The result, as FLIR will demonstrate at the Energy Event, is a range of solutions that allow inspections to be conducted quicker, easier and with greater intelligence than ever before.

Fast, Cost Effective Piezo Z-Stage for all Major Microscopes

Fast, Cost Effective Piezo Z-Stage for all Major Microscopes
The new PI nano piezo-Z stages are optimized for very fast step and settle and easy integration into high-resolution microscope applications. They feature a very low profile a large aperture, and travel ranges of up to 200 µm with sub-nanometer closed-loop resolution–ideal for leading-edge microscopy and imaging applications. The piezo stages are designed for inverted microscopes from the four major manufacturers: Leica, Nikon, Olympus and Zeiss. The low profile design of 20 mm (0.8”) facilitates the integration. The large aperture accommodates microscopy accessories such as slide holders, Petri dish holders, etc.
