Based on strong customer demand, the new Mini Camera Link, 0.4-megapixel, progressive scan CM-040MCL (monochrome) and CB-040MCL (Bayer colour) coicameras join the list of models made for clients who require small size, high quality and advanced functionality at a cost-effective price.
Countering the trend of many manufacturers who are releasing GigE camera models Jai has designed these Mini-CameraLink models to fill a market niche for cameras ideal for applications that need higher bandwidth, real-time signaling, and lower latency than is possible using GigE interfaces.
Measuring a compact 29 x 44 x 66 mm and with 776 x 582 pixels, the 040 models provide slightly greater resolution than basic VGA models while maintaining a high frame rate of 60 fps. The cameras utilize the Sony ICX415 CCD and, while at full resolution, output is at 61 frames/second, higher frame rates can be achieved by using the partial scan or vertical binning modes.
The CM-040MCL and CB-040MCL feature auto-iris lens video output to support dynamic lighting conditions usually found in outdoor applications such as Intelligent Traffic systems and Surveillance.
Both models are available with an optional factory-installed Right Angle Adapter which enables the camera to “look” at a 90º angle and are designed for a range of inspection tasks where physical access is limited.
The cameras provide practical, versatile solutions in a wide range of deployments, including:
*** Automotive industry (eg. inspection, high-precision gauging and process monitoring
*** Pharmaceuticals (eg. Inspection of blister packages, fill level control)
*** Beverage industry (eg. control of fill levels of defective bottles)
*** Food industry (eg. sorting)
*** Electronics inspection
