It includes a control unit, a scanner and a connection cable with up to 25 m in length. The wand of the scanner inspects tools potential-free and compares the results with reference values. Any deviation will stop the machine immediately to avoid consequential damages.
There are three control units available and each of them suits different purposes. A unit with basic configuration is designed for the examination of a single tool or position. For checking all tools within the magazine, a multifunction unit with I/O extension or with Profibus interface can be used. The system's configuration can be done with a computer connected via the USB interface and the appropriate software (basic and I/O extension) or within the CNC project (Profibus). The firmware of every control device provides several program routines in order to speed up the monitoring process.
The IP67 protected scanners are specified for an ambient temperature of up to 80°C. They can be installed directly within the working area, scanning of rotating drills with up to 0.5 mm in diameter is possible. A new scanner of the BK MIKRO 9 series enables detection of even very little damages due to it's improved repeat accuracy of ±0,05°.
BK MIKRO can be installed very easily and without adjusting aids. Therefore the system is suitable for initial installation of equipment as well as for retrofitting active machinery.
